Pansit Habhab

Nothing beats the enthusiasm of a first timer, cuzin' Che jumped off from the car when she saw a table in the street selling pansit habhab. It's one of the famous delicacies of the town and many tourists have only got the chance to taste it during Pahiyas Festival. Pansit habhab is the Lucban version of this chinese origin noodle dish. What makes this unique from other numerous pansit versions in the Philippines / Asia is the way it is being served and eaten. The condiment that goes with the dish is also quite different from the usual patis con calamansi.

It was early in the morning and the pot was hot from the stove. Pansit (in any variant) is always delicious when it's freshly cooked. It was only P8 per single order.

Che got her order on a banana leaf. She asked for a fork or a chopstick ! hahaha! Cuzin' watch me do it, okey ! ! !

I drizzled some vinegar mixed with hot chilies and started to slurp the noodles. Hab-hab, I think meant to be gorged. I heard the dish came to know by this name cos of the way it is being eaten.

Cuzin' watched and could no longer hold it to herself , grabbed my leaf of pansit habhab and started to imitate the way I ate it.

Hahaha! ! She loveth and almost finished mine ! ! drizzle. . slurp. .drizzle. .slurp ! ! !

She ordered some more, took a seat and hab-hab the pansit ! ! !
