Breakfast Buffet @ Bellevue

goodmorning. Omg, it's only 15 before 7 am and it felt like 3 pm already. Today is a "back to school day". It's the opening of classes of my girls for this school year. I just had  a very busy morning in the kitchen and well this mom is proud to say that_ I survived! ..

big breakfast : done
recess boxes : done
lunch boxes :  done

. .with flying colors!! I was awake as early as 4:15 am and at 5:30 was done with my daily jog with hubby around our village. At 6:30 am, the girls and dad had breakfast already and out on the road to school and office ( with individual "baon" ofcourse :) at 6:40 am.
Don't worry I won't bore you with the contents of their take out boxes, instead I'd like to share with you a breakfast buffet I had at Bellevue Hotel, Manila recently.

can you spot me there? Daughter and I were part of the early birds at Cafe d'Asie that morning.

That's where the buffet is being served. It's at the 2nd floor of the main wing.

The buffet spreads were massive but much as I'm a buffet lover, that morning it took me a number of rounds before I begun filling-up my plate. It wasn't the selections, It was me cos I had coffee and sandwich with hubby earlier that morning after we had our fitness at the gym.

It's typical of me to start the day with fruits. So my initial stop was at the fruit bar.

I passed by the cereal section and just grabbed a yogurt and ignored the rest which given other day, cereal with fresh or dried fruits would be my choice to energize the day.

There_ were my first serving.

My daughter with her ever "eyes appetite bigger than her tummy"  ( tagalog : takaw mata ), had filled up her first plate with her favorite breakfast dishes, from the selections below :

crispy bacon

Filipino longanisa and beef tapa

boiled eggs, other egg cooking variants were available too, like sunny side up, omelet or however you want it to be cooked.

It was with difficulty to ignore the salad bar. .

Greens never failed to entice me on the table but this was a rare occasion that I made a pass on them, I had it resolved with the mental calculation that I had enough  veggies that week at home anyway.

Old and new kimchi caught my attention. I don't eat kimchi and didn't try it then even. Yet it made me wonder why two versions? I'll make a wild guess _ is old kimchi more than a day marinated and new kimchi is freshly prepared? Answer please, kimchi lovers :)

oreo muffins

ensaimada

macapuno? muffin

                                                                    blueberry muffin

                                                         danish - peach,strawberry,blueberry

french breads

pancakes

Flooded with muffins, the pastry section was eye candy which I guess made me feel full already so I just get a single danish from there.

The lonely sushi in my plate above was the only one I tried from the Japanese section. I felt pain, why now, why me full? I love sushi!! The tomato something? I forgot where from but I didn't like it.

This one I couldn't place. Looks like some sashimi yet too thick the slice. What? _ ham, beef ?, help!

I love lychee.

Had a cupful of it.

I also love prunes but I don't remember having it that morning.

The following are easy thu' as they are commonly found at the Filipino breakfast tables, best paired with fried rice and garlic-vinegar dip and please add eggs on the side :

bangus (milk fish)

dilis (dried anchovies)

dried danggit

It was a hearty breakfast buffet but I felt cheated cos I ate so little.. huhu. wish I can come back now. . I'm hungry as a wolf seeing those foods >#<. haha.

Bfast @ Cafe Asiana

We arrived at the country club too early to take lunch but too late for breakfast_ 10:45am. We were supposedly to go right into the gym not straight to the resto but my two hungry buddies (a daughter and a girlfriend) insisted to eat!

Majority won. So there we went straight to Cafe Asiana (inside the Palms Country Club, Alabang).

The waiter said lunch buffet would be ready in an hour. But these two couldn't really wait and had to adjust our buffet reservation to afternoon. Buffet's last call was 3pm.

We sent our orders and while waiting _  picture.picture, whatelse? haha. Notice my friend's change of tops?    I nudged here to change from her prev white tees which I thought was too plain for the bright yellow resto. She obliged! haha!

The foods were served and we were all surprise for the big servings. We wanted to eat light cos we planned to go swimming after and lunch was soon to follow.

My plate. I opted to go for half  tuna sandwich. Yes you can do that, either whole or half portion So clever of me to do that cos this half was already hefty. Plus the country fries were so heavy too. I like the few fruits on the side.

My ravenous daughter went all the way. Must be really really hungry. She always is, actually. Take note of the rice. . .

. . which she nonchalantly bundled with double eggs, bacon and hash browns????

My friend who was obviously equally hungry went all the way too. .

. .  with a similar plate as my daughter only with sausages instead of bacon. . no rice. good. .

but order 4 pcs. of buns !!!! hahaha!

Well, you bet they finished their plate clean! _ only to comeback after two hours in the pool with more ravenous appetite for lunch buffet.
Come back later for lunch :)

Put back the jam please. .

Where's the jam ????

I'm not a regular breakfast-er of McDo, but when I do _ I usually have big breakfast, the one with egg, sausage and muffin and jam. At home, every morning  I eat the same sans the sausage and wheat slice bread replaces the muffin.
Last weekend, enroute to another getaway, we made a breakfast stop at Mcdo and ordered my favorite meal. but my breakfast didn't have a jam anymore. I don't eat bread without a spread of jam!
I asked the server and replied that yes it ( the jam!) wasn't included in the meal anymore. . huh?? Apparently, I've been out of Mcdo breakfast scene that long. Really?
Good for me. It means I'm eating healtheir lately, haha.

I'm canceling this big breakfast in my bf list of Mcdo. Next time, I'll just have pancakes ! haha.

Thumbler Coffee

For a moment I got confused on what breakfast drink would I have (- last month while having a random breakfast at my friend's house in SG ). On the table were cartons of juices, milk, soya and choco drink. Coffee was to serve. Hooommh. . so many choices. . at home we only have 2 - juice or choco. I usually have water. I'm not a coffee drinker. None of my family is. So we don't actually have a coffee maker or coffee granules/ powder at home.

But seeing these cute coffee tumblers in different variants like jamaican, swiss, etc. gave me a joy to have coffee that morning (and the breakfasts that followed in that house).

Look how pretty!!!

They were prepared with this coffee machine. How? I didn't know. haha.

Coffee was served to me already cupped.

After a cup of an awesome coffee I was ready to rise and shine tour around the awesome city of Singapore.
