She didn't waste a single minute. She announced that she was going buffet and grabbed sushi from one plate to another. After her 3 plates, only then I had decided on what I would have. I ordered for potato salad. Period.. Brother on the other hand had beef something, another something and fried icecream .It was his birthday that day July 22.

The revolving buffet bar, strategically located side by side the tables was very convenient. One needed not to stand and walk to the table to get food. The food on a revolver paraded and came to you, just grabbed your choice of sushi on to your table.  Sushi plates were color coded. Each color corresponded to a price. The red ones were the most expensive. But if you were availing buffet, you didn't need to get conscious of the coding, ofcorz!!!

For tea drinker, there's a individual hot water dispenser on each table, you didn't have to ask. How nice!

Mogu Mogu

Mogu Mogu_ this season craze of my girls. Daughters go drink phases. One season, they loaded our grocery cart with ice tea in bottles. The next season they went gaga with aloevera drinks.

These days, I see them loading our freezer with these juice bottles called MoguMogu. I think it's more of

younger daughter's fave than the older one. Y.daughter most favorite dessert/snack is nata de coco (coconut gel) which this juice has a lot. I tasted one and yeah it was good! Try it! I like the lychee flavor than the others.

Jatujak

After circling around the center and wings of MOA for over an hour, we gave up our aspiration to find  either an Indian resto or Persian resto.

Late lunch past 2:30 pm, our stomachs were already growling. Just three escalating steps to 2nd level, we agreed to any resto with any cuisine that we would first see at the top of the moving stairs.

We found Jatujak.  Not my first time here but haven't tried other dishes in the menu so it was ok. My brother always  loves Thai dishes. Cuzin, as usual was anything goes.

We like the freshness of the color green. Servers have also relax outfits/uniforms, in t-shirts and flipflops.

Decors were suggestive of bits of Thailand

thai milk tea
Tea people_brod and cuz' didn't waste time to taste the thai milk tea. I'm not one of them. I don't like tea with milk so I had a glass of cantaloupe shakes. We all thumbed up to our drinks.

tom yum soup w mixsea food
We started with tom yum soup . My guess was this is the sinigang of Thai cuisine., it is also a sour soup using different sour source.

bagoong rice
Ofcourse, bagoong rice wouldn't be missed. This dish is quite popular to pinoys cos of the bagoong (shrimp paste). my favorite !

green papaya salad
I've been wanting to taste this papaya salad for the longest time, but usually forgotten. I like it! Quite different from our pinoy version- atchara (pickled papaya).

spareribs in ? sauce
This is good if you were on the sweet tooth side. My girls will surely fall for this. I forgot the name of the dish.

beef in red curry sauce
Our favorite that noon. Yummy! Just enough bits of everything except chili. Loveth!

Well, just incase, you fell short of chilis in your dish, there are hot condiments on the table to add perks.

brod & cuzin
Pure happiness with my two favorite people in the world who happen to have their bdays this month of July.

Golden Bay

The day after typhoon Basyang (last Wed.) classes were suspended. We met cuz' Che and Bianx at MOA. Disappointed_the whole mall had no electricity.Couldn't believe it, the biggest mall in the country failed to generate power to its commercial tenants. All shops and restos were dark and some were even closed for business. We decided to get out of the mall and find a place to eat outside.

First on the list was to find a resto with electricity. Golden Bay, being the biggest in structure among the dining places in the avenue, caught our attention and we drove right through its gate.

It's huge and hotel like with banquet halls/rooms. We knew this lunch would be a lil' costly than our usual. But the lunch was pre-justified with Che's bday treat debt to us. She had her birthday 4 days ago and hadn't taken us out yet. Actually, she was waiting for my brod Boboy who's going to celebrate his, next week. So this one was counted as initial treat prior to the one coming next week with my brother. hahaha! Am I right Che?

I always like an open kitchen especially when dining in a Chinese restaurant. It assures me of the hygiene of the place+ food. Golden Bay has one of the biggest/longest open kitchens I've seen in the country.

Its aquarium was also ample with high quality live aquatic harvest. Lobsters were huge and really attractive in the eye.

So with the complimentary tea & vinaigrette veggies, we started to hit the menu which looked like a coffee table book

Long minutes passed and we hadn't completed our order. The coffee table menu was confusing with many pages and Chinese characters.

We were not getting happy and our tummies were starting to rant.

A Filipino (there were Chinese reps.) receptionist helped us out and gave us another menu book which was more comprehensive.

On the table :

sio long bao, a siomai filled with soup inside
I made sure Che would have a taste of it. Theirs were tiny versions of sio long bao but delicious, I had it on one of my HK/China trips and they had quite a bigger version as big as the large siopao with lots of soup inside.

chicken feet
Very nice and tender. We love the sauce, not so overpowering like the others.

We also had hakaw (shrimp dumpling), pork and beef siomai. All delighted our condescending palate.

seaweed minus the century egg

One of our favorite cold dishes, sooo loveth !

white chicken & pork bbq

The girls loved the pork over the chicken . The pork was finished in a minute.

winter melon soup

Each took a sip of the soup and that was it. The bowls remained untouched til' the end of the meal.

sweet and sour pork

sweet and sour Lapu-lapu

We also had steamed prawns and some fish I couldn't recall the name.

fresh fruits dessert

There were private/family rooms for more private gatherings.

This particular room is suited a party of 12 pax. Nice one next time.

Cheers to the bday girl with a huge heart and body too !! hahaha! Luv ya cuzin!!
